Miu Miu Unveils Revamped Bubble Sole Sneakers for Fall 2026 Collection

The iconic bubble sole sneaker made a triumphant comeback at Miu Miu’s Fall 2026 presentation, marking the final day of Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday. Creative director Miuccia Prada reintroduced this beloved athletic design, originally launched in 1999, featuring its signature squared toe and distinctive studded sole that creates a unique textured appearance.

The updated sneaker showcased a multi-textured approach with suede panels running through the center. Models walked the runway in earth-toned colorblocked variations, with many pairs featuring eye-catching embellishments across the side panels. Some versions displayed elaborate beadwork for added glamour, while others maintained a cleaner aesthetic without decorative elements.

The bubble sole design extended beyond sneakers to include form-fitting knee-high boots and mule clogs, appearing in versatile neutral shades such as black and tan. These pieces demonstrated the versatility of the signature sole across different footwear categories.

Additional standout pieces included ultra-sparkly block heel pumps, intricately decorated slides, and embellished versions of the mule clogs. The collection also featured lace-up work boots crafted from weathered-looking leather, connecting to the women’s workwear theme established in the Spring 2026 collection, which previously showcased sandals, relaxed boots, and various other footwear styles.

Fashion critics noted how the accessories played a crucial role in the overall collection narrative. While the minimalist clothing evoked 1990s aesthetics—particularly relevant given recent auction results for vintage Prada pieces—the accessories catered to Generation Z’s preference for distinctive statement pieces, including embellished winter hats, crystal-adorned belts, and the bedazzled sneakers and pool slides.

This revival of the bubble sneaker aligns with the broader return of 1990s fashion trends, evident not only in the minimalist clothing silhouettes but also in the resurrection of this iconic footwear style that defined late-millennium athletic fashion.
